National Account Manager - Foodservice
POSITION TITLE: National Account Manager - Foodservice
LOCATION: UK (preferably Midlands based)
REPORTS TO: Head of Group Sales - Foodservice
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is of key importance to the commercial sales and strategic performance of Dole Foodservice, working alongside the Head of Group Sales and the Commercial Sales Director. In addition to the management of existing customers, this role will be responsible for creating new business on both a national and regional level selling across all product categories working alongside the Dole Foodservice UK team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of National & Regional customers with a view to retaining and growing market share both organically and incrementally
- Manage a portfolio of National & Regional prospect customers with an objective of creating a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities
- Responsible for the achievement of total net sales and profit targets for an existing portfolio of customers and achieve new business sales and profit targets
- Work closely with the Depot Teams (Purchasing, Sales, Operations) on communication of opportunities, customer meetings, product reviews, and seasonal availability
- Provide ongoing initiative-taking and support to actively improve overall profitability by range selling to all Foodservice customers
- Managing some of the company’s largest and complex customers and to identify and convert new opportunities
LEADERSHIP
- Strongly focused on managing some of the Dole UK Foodservice largest and complex customers and to identify and convert new opportunities
COMPLIANCE
- Proactively manage sales and margins through the quote, tender, and price review process meeting key milestones and deadlines both internally and externally for submissions and price reviews
EXPERIENCE
- Strong sales/commercial background with in-depth experience of working within the produce category
- History of delivering growth with sales, gross margin, and profit targets
- Excellent people skills with the consistent ability to gain trust, manage and influence individuals from varying disciplines, responsibilities, and styles
- Experience of selling to larger foodservice end users and buying groups, ideally from foodservice sector
- Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to manage customer profitability, sales margins and completion of product quotes and tenders
- Excellent face to face communication skills and telephone manner
- Strong commercial acumen, presentation and influencing skills
- Experience of preparing and supporting tender information and quote detail in the proposal to the customer
QUALIFICATIONS
- An elevated level of education with relevant qualifications
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
